La Academia ha dado a conocer oficialmente las nominaciones de las 24 categorías de los Oscars 2015, y probablemente una de las sorpresas más llamativas es la ausencia de ‘The Lego Movie’ en la sección de Mejor Película Animada, mientras que la adaptación cinematográfica de ‘American Sniper’ del veterano Clint Eastwood constó en varias categorías, incluida la de Mejor Película y Mejor Actor para Bradley Cooper, quien ha conseguido su tercera nominación actoral seguida y su primera como productor.
En la categoría de Mejor Actor la ausencia de Jake Gyllenhaal es realmente inaudita, y especialmente la de ‘Nightcrawler’, la cual sólo obtuvo una nominación por Mejor Guión Original, acreditado a su director, Dan Gilroy. Por primera vez en seis años encontramos a 8 realizaciones entre las nominadas a Mejor Película, a diferencia de los años anteriores donde encontrábamos 9, o inclusive 10, como se registró en el 2011, por lo que llama la atención que teniendo otras películas como ‘Foxcatcher’, ‘Gone Girl’, ‘Selma’, o la mencionada Nighrcrawler, no haya habido cabida para alguna de ellas. ‘Birdman’ del director mexicano Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu y ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ obtuvieron 9 nominaciones, con ‘The Imitation Game’ no tan lejos consiguiendo 8, y sorpresivamente American Sniper emparejándose con ‘Boyhood’ con 6.
